You mean the stock bodies that they come on, right? Since there are also Obitsu bodies, which are meant for other dolls but fit Pullips too. There are type 1, type 2, type 3, and type 4 Pullip bodies. I don't know much about type 1 and type 2 bodies, since I don't have any dolls on them. Type 3 is what three of my four dolls came to me on, and can pose nicely, but the dolls can't really stand on their own. Type 4 seems very similar to type 3, except the legs look different, hands are different, and chest is smaller. Again though, it's hard, if not impossible, to get them to stand on their own. There are different body types because as Jun Planning (producer of Pullip) found ways to make the bodies more articulated, or better designed, they changed the bodies. HTH!
