What is everyone's favorite way to start playing dolls?
Sometimes it can seem a bit daunting when you don't have any ideas! My sisters and I sometimes each draw a name of a character from Pleasantville out of a full bowl, and then play with that one character for 15 minutes with a timer. When those 15 minutes are over, we move on to another character, and so on. This also allows you to focus on one person at a time!
Ideas?

That's a great idea! I need to try that. I sometimes play with them is historical order. I will also I pick a doll to be by me when I am doing a task that relates to them in some way. Like if I'm sewing something for Kit, I have Kit next to me.

I fly from one time period to the next; always into something/someone different the next week! So, generally when I'm really passionate about a certain character, I'll change her outfit, do her hair, make a photoshoot, and maybe create a scene with her and some other dolls.

The timer idea sounds, good, Solana. Sometimes I choose two or three dolls/stuffed animals to hang out with each other. Like right now, Kirsten has been spending time with her good friend, Kaya. If I'm crafting or baking, I bring a doll with me, to help (example: if I'm baking something from Samantha's Cooking Studio, she'll "help" me). If I can't think of something, I might just have a doll reply to a letter or I'll change her outfit/do her hair, or do something else simple. Also, for times when you can't physically play with a doll (or are not motivated to) you can just imagine what she's doing or saying. Or who she's interacting with. Even if you don't feel like you're getting anywhere, story-wise, any type of play can be fun (even just watching a movie with a doll).

There are so many fun ways to start playing dolls... one of my favorites is to just get on top of all their business - clean the house, do all their chores, write back to all their letters, make them clean up their jobs and buildings and such or just go over to visit another person. A lot of the time the little girls also have homework to do so that is more to do also.
