My "world", which is really a county in the northwestern corner of Washington state, is called Pleasant County. Its major town is called 'Pleasantville', and other towns include Mapleton, Panorama, Pebble Brook, Buffalo Creek, Pleasant Point, and Springfield. The total population is 4,000 people.
Pleasant County's main focus is education, and teaching the rich history of America to modern-day students. There are many events held in the Pleasant Point Ampitheater and Park to celebrate holidays that focus on various events in history, such as President's Day, the 4th of July, Flag Day, and Veterans Day.
My girl's all live in a boarding house on the western side of Pleasantville. (The map below shows North in the direction that East would be in a regular map.) The house is two levels high, with the modern girls and the living room on the ground floor, and the Historical girls and the kitchen on the second floor. From the house, it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive to get to Panorama Heights Elementary (easternmost building in Pleasantville, aside from several houses and a grocery store), 45 minute drive to Piney Point Camp and one hour and fifteen minutes to get to Buffalo Creek Library. Walking is about the same time, because the speed limit in Pleasant County is very slow, about 10 mph, in order to prevent any pedestrians being hit.
*Please note that since this map was drawn by Andi last year for a Social Studies project, both Edgewater School and Pleasantville Academy have been demolished and turned into other buildings. Edgewater is now Pleasant County's School District building, and Pleasantville Academy has been downscaled and been transformed into Cedar Hill Elementary, a modern elementary school. Pleasant Historical Academy was also built over the course of the winter holidays of 2009, and now stands in Buffalo Creek between Mt. Bedford Academy's Horse Stables, and Buffalo Creek's Library.
The most and least popular buildings were very recently polled in an issue of The Pleasant County Post, which is a major newspaper that covers all of Pleasant County. The poll's results were printed in the January 26th 2010 issue.
Most Popular Shopping Center: Sunshine Mall (Stands in Panorama, is three levels high and not only boasts a movie theater, a game center, and an amusement park, but also has over 300 stores.
Least Popular Shopping Center: Westcoast Mall (one of the first malls in Pleasant County from 1972, it stands in the lesser-popular town of Springfield and is one of those failing malls with unpopular shops.)
Most Populated School (Private or Public): Pleasantville Public High school, with 945 students
Least Populated School (Private or Public): Springfield Elementary, with 76 students from grades kindergarten to five.
Most Popular Lesiure-spending place: Tie between many places, except Tachaoma Beach.
Least Popular Lesiure-spending place: Tachaoma Beach, a tiny beach with not enough sand to hold over 40 people. It borders on the small lake in Springfield, which is rather polluted and gross.
Currency: The Disney dollar
About: Until 1999, American currency was used in Pleasant County. But in 2000, when Mayor Kittee took over the governorship, she arranged a deal with the Disney Corporation: if Disney was to make a commercial to advertise Pleasant County, Pleasant County in return have to adapt the Disney dollar as its currency. The Disney dollar currently stands at ∂0.25 = $1 American. Kittee Savings and Loans in Pleasantville handles the majority of transfers of money, but Mapleton Trust and Funds Bank, along with the National Rowland Bank in Buffalo Creek, also have small desks set up for exchanges.
